A new search engine, Cuil (pronounced “Cool”), was launched on Monday. It was developed by some folks from google and was introduced with great press and fanfare. So far, the responses have been mixed and the search results spotty.

You may have read recently that the notion of “the Long Tail” (which is a guiding principle in interactive marketing) had been debunked by an article in the Harvard Business Review. I had been struggling with how to explain to my colleagues why the HBR article was, in my opinion, off base (it was, essentially, discussing a different point entirely).
