Catalyst Direct, Inc., revs up its business
ROCHESTER, NY—Catalyst Direct, Inc., a direct marketing agency in Rochester, NY with a client roster that includes Bank of America, Citigroup, Eastman Kodak Company, HSBC, Sage Software, and Valvoline Instant Oil Change, has added more horsepower to its business by acquiring marketing analytics company, Equient. The purchase, effective May 1, 2006, enhances Catalyst’s service offering and better positions the company to compete on a national level.
“We believe this acquisition puts Catalyst at the forefront of the direct marketing indus¬try, which will allow us to better compete with larger, national agencies,” said Mike Osborn, Catalyst’s co-owner and Managing Director. “We promise our clients knowl¬edge-based solutions and in bringing Equient under the Catalyst umbrella and enhancing our analytic capabilities, we are more equipped than ever to deliver on that promise.”
Equient, formerly owned by General Dynamics, specializes in marketing analytics, including customer profiling, segmentation, and statistical modeling. In addition, Equient’s proprietary consumer data products include VeriMart™, a database of U.S. households.
In purchasing Equient, Catalyst has strengthened its brand and now has improved capabilities to offer its clients superior service. The acquisition provides Catalyst with more data analysts, statisticians and a business analyst. Kevin Seaman, Equient’s operations manager, will be Catalyst’s new Director, Data and Analytical Services. He brings 14 current Equient staff members with him.
